Music...
We need dark-classical musical, something extremely orchestral...
But dark nonetheless..
Our decorations should consist of candles scattered about the place (obviously lit), perhaps a couple of gargoyles on the walls, maybe some flaming torches on the walls too..
As for 'pranks', we could somehow get haunting, whispering and muttering voices to follow about the members of other houses...
Some hollow laughter, perhaps.

I've gotta couple of phantasms to give the common rooms of the other houses a good, healthy scare.

I have a box of dark ghoul fireworks, they dont damage things since they are just exploding specters and they are harmless but look really scary

Good ideas, people - keep them coming.
As for dark classical music, there's the famous fugue for church organ by Bach (Fugue in D Minor, I think, but I'm not sure).

also the food could be some of Sephiroth's famous pumpkin pies *grins at Seph* and some candy, I have a good spell for refilling candy bowls. The drink could be chilled pumpkin juice. The music is right, dark orchestra is great

How about letting the party get going, then formally commencing with Bach's Fugue and then, a while later, giving a performance of the Monster Mash?
