Greetings, folks. I'm Callimpsest, and I've agreed to come on board as the school librarian. I currently have 'New Student' status - well, we are all students in a way, I suppose - but don't let that fool you. As a logical consequence of my arrival, the library is now open, for studying, thinking, being; and of course, plot development. Feel free to drop in. You may find some of the books impossible to put down - a few can be rather attention-seeking in that way. Let me know and I'll have a chat with them. I recognise a few of you from other haunts, though I hope to get to know you all in the future... or, er, better still, in the present. Please inform me of any responsibilities you wish me to take on, aside from library duties. Is that a teapot over there?

Well this seems a tad unfair, dedicated posters get no promotions and some new member comes along and gets a great new position,

Oh, dear. I've only been here an hour or so and already I've caused a problem. I'm sorry. Basically, having noticed that the library wasn't being used, I emailed the Headmistress, volunteering to be a librarian. It's not a case of favouritism or deceit - anyone could have done it. '...some new member comes along and gets a great new position': surely, a position at KMBS is what you make it? Who's to say that my role is greater than anyone else's? In fact, by acting as the librarian where before there was an unused section of the school, I could well help to make the KMBS experience even more 'great' for many members. I'd hope so, anyway. But, it goes without saying that if I am doing more harm than good - which is the case so far - I'll withdraw from the KMBS with no hard feelings on my part.

This post was arranged not only because our new member wanted to be a part of the school and has some great ideas, we also do NOT have a librarian and Callimpsest is unable to post as frequently as you students/opposition etc. It was the perfect post for a part-timer. We DID discuss this in great length and it is a good idea.

dedicated posters get no promotions Actually, you do. You can be promoted to Prefect if you show yourselves to be fit for the post, and there are other promotions beyond that if we get more members. Without more members promotions beyond prefect are a little bit pointless. We HAD a prefect but she left us - PF and I are in the process of assessing all of you for a new one. In other words, do NOT jump to conclusions, Lord_Bob. You are sorely testing our patience.

May I just add my contribution to this topic, Callimpsest welcome to the school and a school librarian is a great idea. You are no trouble to us it is just Bob's very short temper. Bob, you really need to calm down. I know you're under a lot of stress atm but please be patient with other people and don't snap so much. You don't own this board and you should stop acting that way. Also, who was our prefect we had who left? I didn't know we had one.

Of course - it WAS Halla...but I have no idea where she's gone. Perhaps Snowwie knows.
